GLENN HEIGHTS, TX – “It brings me immense pride and joy to celebrate the overwhelming success of the City of Glenn Heights Sunset Concert Series, an event that has not only brought music to our evenings but has truly become a signature experience in our city,” said Glenn Heights Mayor Sonja A. Brown.
In her official statement, she continued, “What began as a vision to create more moments of community, culture, and connection has grown into one of the most anticipated series in the region, drawing concertgoers from Glenn Heights and our neighboring cities alike. The response has been extraordinary, and the energy at each event is proof that when we invest in people, art, and atmosphere, we create something unforgettable.
We kicked off the series with powerhouse jazz performances by the incredibly talented students of DeSoto ISD and Red Oak ISD. Their musicianship set the tone for a season full of soul, rhythm, and celebration. Next, we welcomed the dynamic Mirek.E.L (pronounced Miracle) and The Collective, who kept the crowd on their feet with their infectious sound. Most recently, we were thrilled to experience the electrifying performance of Ox and the Waymakers, whose blend of genres and showmanship left a lasting impression.
Let’s not forget the flavor!
No concert experience is complete without great food, and our local food trucks and beverage vendors have delivered in every way! From mouthwatering bites to refreshing drinks, these small businesses have brought bold flavors and hometown hospitality to every performance. Whether you’re craving savory street eats, sweet treats, or an ice-cold beverage to beat the Texas heat, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Come hungry, leave happy, and support our amazing local vendors while you’re at it!”
Guess what! Glenn Heights is not done yet either!
Mark your calendars for the city’s final two concerts of the summer:
- Sunday, August 3 – our Sunset Series Finale, and trust me, it’s going to be a treat you won’t want to miss.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our city staff, volunteers, performers, and every resident and guest who has come out to support this series. Your presence, joy, and energy are what make events like this possible.
Let’s keep the momentum going as we close out summer with music, unity, and the undeniable spirit of Glenn Heights.”
