OBIT: SHELBY ROSSUM

Shelby Rossum, a beacon of love and joy, was born on December 16, 1936, and departed from this world on June 17, 2025. His life, rich with cherished moments and warm memories, is a reminder of the profound impact a single individual can have on the lives of so many.

Known for his loving and caring nature, Shelby was the kind of person who brightened any room he entered. His laughter could lift spirits, and his gentle words provided comfort to those in need. A true testament to a life well-lived, Shelby’s happiness radiated, touching the hearts of family, friends, and even strangers.

Family and community were the cornerstones of Shelby’s existence. He dedicated his life to nurturing relationships and creating lasting bonds. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through the countless lives he enriched with his kindness.

A viewing will be held in his honor on June 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. The following day, another viewing will take place at Trinity Friendship Baptist Church, 840 East Brown Street, Wylie, TX 75098, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The funeral service will commence at the same church on June 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, concluding in a space filled with love, remembrance, and celebration of a remarkable life.

As we reflect on the days spent with Shelby, our hearts are heavy yet filled with gratitude for having shared time with such an extraordinary soul. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and unite us.
