Dawson Phillip Half Jr, a retired painter whose colorful strokes adorned many homes and hearts, passed away on April 23, 2024, in Dallas, TX. Born in Denver, CO on September 12, 1947, Dawson was a man of unwavering faith and boundless positivity.

Throughout his life, Dawson’s paintbrush wielded not only paint but also joy and laughter. His career as a painter was not just about putting color on canvas but about creating connections with those around him.

Dawson Halfacre Jr was known for his vibrant personality – funny, positive, and always ready to encourage others. His love for God shone through his actions, and his outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger; to him, everyone was simply a friend he hadn’t yet had the pleasure of knowing.

In his quiet moments, Dawson found solace in music; Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk” was a favorite that soothed his soul. He took refuge in the pages of the Bible, finding guidance and peace within its verses. And when it came to food, nothing brought him more joy than indulging in his favorite meal – chicken paired with an ice-cold Pepsi.

One of Dawson’s proudest accomplishments was his family – his children and grandchildren were the lights of his life. Their love and presence brought him immeasurable happiness throughout the years.

As we bid farewell to Dawson Phillip Halfacre Jr, let us remember him not with tears but with smiles that mirror the joy he brought into our lives. May his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness live on in all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Goodbye for now but not forever – your spirit will continue to brighten our days.
