Jodie Walton Jr.

Jodie Walton Jr. was born on July 18, 1931 to Jodie Walton Sr. and Mary Corbett-Walton of Coahoma, Mississippi.  He confessed a life in Christ at an early age at Beautiful Zion Church under the pastorage of Rev. J.C. McGee.

 He was joined in Holy Matrimony to James Ellen Humphries in 1952. Jodie moved to Fort Worth, TX in 1955. He worked for the Fort Worth Independent School District until his retirement. He was instrumental in assisting his sister to raise his two nephews Eric and Mark Walton after moving to Fort Worth. He became a member of Good Shepherd Temple of Praise under the leadership of his nephew, Pastor Charlie Nickerson in 1992. In 2005 he joined House of Prayer Ministries under the leadership of his eldest nephew, Pastor Johnny Nickerson, where he served as a faithful Deacon until his health failed him. 

     Jodie departed this life March 1, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, James Ellen Walton; his parents Jodie and Mary Walton; his sisters: Lillie, Glendora, Velcie, Mary Louise, Emma Jean of Chicago, Queen Ester and Esther Mohn of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother: Willie Walton Sr. of Chicago; one son Roy Lee Campers, and one granddaughter Alicia Hampton. 

 He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving daughter, Maple Allen of Chicago; one brother, James Shelby of St. Louis; four granddaughters, one grandson, one great-great grandson; special caregivers Pastor Johnny
