75th Anniversary of the Desegregation of the Armed Forces

President Biden has been very clear that America’s greatest strength has always been our diversity.

Seventy-five years after President Truman signed Executive Order 9981, ending the unconscionable racial segregation of our Armed Forces, President Biden issued the following statement and delivered remarks at the Truman Civil Rights Symposium, a national 75th anniversary commemoration of desegregation in the armed forces.
