Sgt. Aubrey Vonzell Humphrey, a USAF Veteran, was a man who embodied intelligence, analytical thinking, and creativity throughout his life, passed away on May 2, 2023, in Harker Heights, Texas. Aubrey was born on October 4, 1956, in Marlin, Texas. He leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance.

I’ve had some good days, I’ve had some hills to climb, I’ve had some weary days, And some sleepless nights… But when I look around And I think things over, All of my good days, Outweigh my bad days, I won’t complain!

It is with utmost sorrow, and heavy heart we announce the passing of Mr. Aubrey Vonzell Humphrey, a US Air Force Veteran Sergeant of Harker Heights, TX. Please keep the Humphrey family lifted in your thoughts and prayers.

From his birth in Marlin to his final moments in Harker Heights, Aubrey’s life was a study of resilience, curiosity, and creativity. Aubrey’s beloved parents, Marie Thomas Humphrey and Luthell Humphrey, endowed their son with a powerful and enduring love for family. 

Following his college years, Aubrey courageously volunteered and joined the United States Air Force. This was a true testament to the values that Aubrey held dear. His years of service in the Air Force truly showcased a commitment to discipline, hard work, and excellence. These honorable qualities became mainstays in his character for the rest of his life. While in the Air Force, Aubrey was awarded: the Air Force Training Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Air Force, Longevity Service Award.

A creative and highly analytical mind, Aubrey was often found building, improving, and tinkering with computers – a testament to his intellectual prowess and his thirst for knowledge. Even in the twilight of his life, Aubrey remained intimately connected to his passion for technology, ensuring he was never too far from a computer.

Aubrey drew deeply from this wellspring of love throughout his life, sharing these same enduring values with his siblings, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; Luthell Humphrey, and a sister; Rachel Humphrey. 

Aubrey leaves to cherish precious memories his mother; Marie Thomas Humphrey, siblings; Alma Calloway, Theresa Simpson, Glenda Calloway, Francys Humphrey, and Gavin Humphrey. His love for family expanded even further being the proud father of Juanita “Nikki” Jacobs, Alexander Humphrey, AJ Talbert, Antoinette Avery, Justin Humphrey, Syreeta “Cassie” Humphrey, Aubrey Winston Humphrey, and Zavier Humphrey. He also leaves to cherish special and profound memories a nephew; Donald “Bo” Calloway, and niece; Jamille Hall, also holding a unique place in Aubrey’s heart, are his many cherished grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
