LISA LORING

February 15, 1958 – January 28, 2023

Lisa Loring was an actress best known for playing Wednesday Addams in the 1960s TV sitcom “”The Addams Family.”” She died at a hospital in Burbank, California of a stroke at the age of 64.

Loring’s agent, Chris Carbaugh of C and V Promotions, confirmed to USA TODAY Loring died on Saturday surrounded by her family.

“Lisa was a very loving mother, grandmother and friend with a lifetime of amazing stories and experiences,” Carbaugh said Monday. “She brought to life one of the most iconic characters in Hollywood history that is still celebrated today. Lisa loved sharing her memories and meeting all her fans across the world.  She will be missed dearly.”

Loring’s daughter, Vanessa Foumberg, told Variety her mother died of a stroke.

Loring was just six years old when she began playing Wednesday in the 1964 debut of “”The Addams Family.”” Her portrayal of the sweet but morbid little girl with a pet black widow spider became iconic. 

In the recent Netflix series “”Wednesday,”” Jenna Ortega paid tribute to Loring’s portrayal in a much-shared dance scene. Loring later had a recurring role on “”As the World Turns”” as Cricket Montgomery. Her other TV appearances included “”Dr. Kildare,”” “”The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,”” and “”Fantasy Island.”” Loring also appeared in movies including “”Savage Harbor”” and “”Way Down in Chinatown.””
