Helen Parks

Helen Parks, 83 went home to glory Saturday, January 28, 2023, with her family by her side. Mrs. Parks was born August 6, 1939, in Dallas Tx and attended Lincoln High School. She married Robert Parks (Nappy) on February 18, 1967. They raised 5 children and attended Church of The Living God where she worked with the sick & shut-in ministry.

She worked as a dog groomer for over 52 years and was the best in town. When you look back over her life, she was a cook for the hungry, a place of shelter for the homeless and a counselor for people with addictions. She didn’t hold a degree in any of these fields, but love was certainly her guidance and certification. She truly lived her life to the fullest always being the life of the party. Helen exemplified the word “GRANDMOTHER” by leaving a lasting impression on her grandkid’s lives.

As her health declined, she moved to Desoto to be near her daughters. On November 22, 2015, she joined the Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Oscar D. Epps, Sr. and remained a member until God called her from labor unto reward.

Helen is proceeded in death by her husband (Robert), her parents (Eulah & Robert), her sister (Doris), her niece (Kirk) and a nephew (Robert). Helen leaves to cherish her memories her 3 sons Anton, Frederick and Hagan, 2 daughters Phyllis (Emery), Deborah (David), 1 sister Willie Mae Coleman along with 16 grandkids, 25 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be truly missed.
