Pack the Polls

royce west

Our Vote Our Voice is hosting its annual mobilization campaign “Pack The Polls” a new twist to “Souls to the Polls” coined by the civil rights movement. This energizing caravan is a GOTV mobilization campaign to empower disenfranchised communities on Sunday, October 30, 2022. The starting point is St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church starting at 11:30AM.

Line up begins at 11:00 AM after our 10:00 AM worship service.

During this event, participants had fun decorating their cars with signs using GOTV phrases to prepare to ride through communities to encourage them to make voting a part of their daily schedule for November Mid-Term Election. The parade route covered three major polling sites, Samuell Grand Recreation Center (Main), MLK Jr. Center and concluded with Paul Laurence Dunbar. Partnering organizations include the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Next Generation Action Network.

In 2020, participants included Senator Royce West who said, “This event was great and needed in the community to empower people to vote”.
