Ettice Brickus has spent more than two decades with the Baltimore Police Department, where she worked her way up to deputy chief. She later moved to Montgomery and currently serves as the police department’s chief of staff and second-in-command. Now, she will make history as Selma, Alabama’s first permanent Black woman police chief.
