Councilman Thomas calls for end to crime

Dallas City Councilman Casey Thomas addresses the increase in crime rates- encourages unity and accountability

Public safety was at the top of the agenda for Dallas City Councilman Casey Thomas as he addressed steadily increasing crime rates, the causes and prevention efforts; along with Police Chief Eddie Garcia.

“Now is the time to come together; city leadership, clergy, community leaders and the Dallas Police Department to take ownership for preventing crime in our community this summer,” Councilman Thomas said during a press conference at the Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center on Saturday.

Councilman Thomas and Chief Garcia were joined by Dallas City Councilmembers Jesse Moreno, Adam Bazaldua, and Gay Donnell-Willis; Dallas NAACP’s Sharon Middlebrooks, and Rev. Ronald Wright of the Justice Seekers.
