DC Studios’ latest film, Supergirl, is receiving mixed reactions from audiences, with some praising its emotional message while others say the storyline wasn’t the best. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently holds 53% critics score and a 74% audience score, showing the difference between critical reviews and audience opinions.
For some viewers, the movie struggled to keep their attention because of its pacing and overall structure. Sapphire Dillard, a longtime fan of both Marvel and DC films, said the movie had strong moments but lacked consistency.
“I liked the parent’s scene,” Dillard said. “I think they could’ve cut a lot out of the movie.” She added that she expected more from the film and felt it “wasn’t put together well” because the story seemed “all over the place.”
Others walked away with a much different impression. Micah Talton said the film’s biggest strength was its ending, when Kara chose compassion over revenge by convincing another Ruthye not to kill Krem.
“I believe it was a great redemption story on Kara’s behalf,” Talton said.
Although viewers had different opinions about the film, both agreed that Supergirl delivered memorable moments in different ways. For Dillard, the movie fell short because of its pacing and storyline. For Talton, the ending and Kara’s decision to choose mercy over revenge made the film worth watching.
With critics and audiences continuing to share mixed reactions, Supergirl has become a topic of conversation among DC fans. Whether viewers connected with the story or felt it could have been stronger, the film has sparked discussion about what audiences hope to see from future DC releases.
