WILMER – Wilmer resident O.D. Chalmers turned 102 on July 16.
Originally from Marshall, Texas, he was born in 1924 and moved to Wilmer at the age of 97.
Chalmers is also a proud Navy Veteran.
In 2021 Wilmer issued a proclamation on July 16, naming that day O.D. Chalmers Day, and proclaiming: “He has been a blessing to those around him and motivates friends and loved ones and everyone he meets.”

Chalmers married Cleo Thomas over 80 years ago and they had six children. He is a grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather.
