In October 1996, founder Willie Pettigrew, affectionately called Uncle Willie, catered an industry event. There, he met the owner of a popular Dallas-based seafood restaurant chain, who expressed his interest in carrying Uncle Willie’s pecan pie tartlets on their dessert menu, and the rest is pretty much history.
