Charles Edward Hunter, known to those who loved him as “Bo,” passed away on June 18, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy radiant with faith, family devotion, and unwavering kindness. Born on February 14, 1939, in Quinlan, TX, Charles led a life emblematic of steadfast commitment—a praying man whose soul brimmed with love for the Lord and an unshakable dedication to those he cherished.

Bo was a man who would stop whatever he was doing to pray, a quiet testament to the depth of his spirituality. His days were marked by an enduring love for his church, a devoted attitude towards hard work, and an infectious, easy-going nature that mingled seamlessly with his fun-loving spirit. A great provider and family-centered patriarch, Charles was a beacon of strength and warmth to all who knew him.

His hands were often busy—whether working diligently on vehicles for maintenance or carefully collecting scrap, driven by an industrious mind and heart. Yet, he always made time for reading the Word of God, immersing himself in the sacred truths that guided his life and actions. Bo’s proudest accomplishments were both profound and simple: accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and nurturing his beloved children, whom he regarded as his greatest blessings.

Charles’s family remains his enduring testament. He leaves behind his children Vickie Hunter, Sharon Hunter, Gerald Hunter (Rhonda), Hurburt Anderson, and Claudia Hunter, who carry forward his spirit and teachings. A father figure to Aaron Jackson and Jeanine Jackson, Bo extended his love and guidance beyond immediate ties, exemplifying a heart wide enough for many. His siblings who walk the earth still—Ruthie Jackson, Janie Stephens (Roy), Luverta Hunter, Margie Frazier, Travis Hunter, and Fred Hunter—hold close the memories of a brother whose presence was both steady and uplifting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Hunter; his grandson, Weldon Kingsby, Jr.; and siblings Theresa, Acie, and Jewel. Their memories intertwine with his in a tapestry of love and remembrance.

Charles’s life was a profound sermon of faith lived daily—a resilient soul who carried a light through hard work, devotion, and laughter. His legacy is one carved not just in the annals of family memory but in the hearts of all who were blessed to know “Bo,” a man who loved the Lord deeply and exemplified that love in all he did.
