Saturday, an army of Black men were deployed to the streets of Dallas, Texas could be seen blocks away walking well-known streets like Ledbetter, Trinity, Elsie Faye Heggins, Trinity, Bonnie View, Sunnyvale, and Simpson Stuart Road.

Dressed in gray suits, white shirts and cranberry bow ties, they were clean-cut and sharp.
Some were asking why would they be out in the “hood,” in business attire on a humid Texas day?
These men are known for such, for the last 96 years. They would say, ‘you have to be dressed the best for the best, because the people we serve deserve the best.
The men are the Fruit of Islam (FOI) –the army of men from the Nation of Islam–who have; since their founding in 1930, in the Black Bottom of Detroit, been working to serve Black people urging them to become the greatest they can be.
Under their eternal leader and teacher, the Most Hon. Elijah Muhammad, they redeem convicts, hustlers, prostitutes, the downtrodden of the Black experience.
As the renowned author, James Baldwin would say, “Elijah Muhammad has been able to do what generations of welfare workers and committees and resolutions and reports and housing projects and playgrounds have failed to do.”
One of the greatest testaments of such, would be a member of the FOI, the world would come to know as Malcolm X, transformed from pimp, hustler and convict to one of the most premier world leader’s of the 20th century.
The FOI continued with such work this day in Dallas, with a directive from The Hon. Min. Louis Farrakhan, to make the community a decent, safe place to live.
Muhammad’s top student, Min. Farrakhan has led the Nation of Islam for the last nearly 50 years.
In an organized effort, young men in the FOI started what they call the Saviour’s Tour, where hundreds of of them engage neighborhoods across America,.
And it was Dallas’ turn this day.
“The Hon. Min. Louis Farrakhan is who has brought us to Dallas. His love for us, our families and our lives and our communities is so inspirational that we found that it is super important that we follow in his footsteps,” said Leonard Muhammad, the founder of the tour. So we came to Dallas, Black Dallas, Brown Dallas, Dallas is an important city to our Nation of Islam, and we wanted to make sure that the people know that we love them, the Hon. Min. Louis Farrakhan loves them, and we want to work with those like-minded individuals in the city to make it a decent safe place to live.”
Dallas County District Attorney-Elect Amber Givens, who won the March primary, becoming the Democratic nominee, and DA elect, with no Republican filing for the seat, has no opponent in the general election.
She was present at Muhammad Mosque No. 48 for the finale of this weekend’s community work, culminating with a message of unity from Southwest Regional Student Minister, Dr. Haleem Muhammad from Houston, TX.
The tour works as an expansion to the FOI already present in Dallas, who can be found headquartered in South Dallas at Muhammad Mosque No. 48. This was a great time to experience such a grand outreach to the community as Dallas has a newly-appointed head of the Muhammad Mosque No. 48, Student Minister Rashad Muhammad.
“As the newly-appointed Student Minister of Muhammad Mosque #48, I am honored to serve the Dallas community, especially the under-served Black and Brown people,” he said. “When the Saviours’ Tour hit the Dallas Streets, We made it a point to go door-to-door in the most dangerous and violent communities in Dallas and where you may think we would have been met with resistance, we were embraced with love from the young and old alike.
“Why? We came with a spirit of love as my Teacher, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan taught us to come to the people. So we went out to inspire, but we were blessed to be inspired by the loving and resilient spirit of the Black and Brown Dallas community.”
