US Death Row Exoneree #138 Anthony Graves in Dallas for Reentry/Second Chances Awareness Month Film Screening + Talkback

On Friday, April 17, 2026, US Death Row Exoneree #138 Anthony Graves will be in Dallas, Texas to participate in a screening and talkback for the new feature film “Newborn” released by AMC Theatres last week during National Reentry/Second Chances Awareness Month.  Mr. Graves will be joined by Miles of Freedom Founder/CEO and exoneree Richard Miles for the talkback moderated by Dallas Arts & Culture Commissioner Amber Pickens.

The film “Newborn” is written and directed by Nate Parker and stars David Oyelowo in the lead as Chris Newborn.  After seven years in solitary confinement, Chris Newborn is released into a world that feels both unfamiliar and overwhelming. Determined to rebuild his life, he attempts to reconnect with his family and navigate the routines of everyday freedom. But the psychological toll of isolation lingers, as Chris confronts the mental and emotional challenges that accompany his return to society.
