Ingrid Sturgis is the Associate Dean of the Cathy Hughes School of Communications at Howard University. A content creator, editor and multimedia writer. The former editor-in-chief of Essence.com, she has spent nearly 20 years at Howard University, in several positions, including Chair, Department of Media, Journalism and Film. A graduate of City College of New York with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts, Ingrid received her Master’s Degree in Journalism from New York University. A longtime member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Ingrid is a native New Yorker and veteran journalist who has been pursuing her doctorate degree.
