OBIT: RICHARD DANIELS

Richard Daniels, a beacon of strength and compassion, departed this world on January 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy woven with the threads of dedication, love, and unwavering faith. Born on September 18, 1931, in the humble town of Brandon, Texas, he grew from a spirited boy into a man of deep conviction and resilience, defining his life through various vocations and a steadfast commitment to his family and community.

A minister by calling, Richard first ascended the pulpit on July 21, 2001, where he shared his passion for the word of God, becoming a source of inspiration and comfort to countless souls. His spirituality was intertwined with a robust work ethic; he balanced his sacred duties with roles as a driver for Columbian Meat Packing, a security guard, and a private chef and bartender. An embodiment of hard work, Richard often juggled two jobs, earning the admiration of friends and family alike.

His love for education saw him traverse halls at Dallas I.S.D, Grahams Barber College, and Phillips Business School. He embraced learning with the same fervor he poured into every sermon and every role he took on. Richard was not just a survivor, but a thriver, carving out a life marked by independence and a rich tapestry of experiences.

In his quieter moments, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life, eagerly watching “The Sherry Shepard Show” and rooting passionately for the Dallas Cowboys — a testament to his spirited nature and enduring loyalties. These were not just the hobbies of a man passing time; they reflected the essence of a heart that cherished laughter and companionship.

Described as caring yet stern, and a great storyteller, Richard never met a stranger, believing in connection and community as vital elements of existence. His engaging presence was felt by all who crossed his path, and he enriched many lives with his tales and wisdom.

Richard’s departure leaves behind six adoring children: Keri Murkledove (Cedric), Janice Anderson, Clara Campbell, Roger Campbell, Edward Campbell, and David Daniels. His family circle extends to include nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each carrying a piece of his indomitable spirit.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Richard embraced service not just in conflict, but throughout his life, echoing his belief that true strength lies in humility and care for others. His journey ended in Dallas, Texas, where he spent his final days, enveloped in the love of those who will carry his memory forward.
