OBIT: TOMMIE LEE MORGAN

Tommie Lee Morgan was born September 16, 1944, to parents Tommy James and Jessie Faye Morgan in Dallas, Texas. He received his education from James Madison High School and Richland College.

Tommie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a veteran in the United States Marine Corps. After his duty in the Marines, he became a certified welder for several years. He retired from the Denton State Supported Living Center.

Tommie was married to Mary Lee Mapps, who preceded him in death. To this union, they had three children, Rickey Charles Mapps, Vickey Renee Morgan, and Andrea Morgan, who preceded him in death. Tommie was also married to Erma Lee Anderson, who preceded him in death. Tommie is also preceded in death by his father and mother, Tommy and Jessie Morgan: brothers, Michael Moore, Kenneth Mitchell, James Mitchell, Ron Morgan, and Sammie Mitchell, and sister Michelle Moore.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories two sisters, Joyce Morgan and Linda Seaton (Robert) one brother Anthony Moore (Ilene) three sons, Rickey Mapps, Robert Brown (Oletha), and Anthony Anderson (Rashanda), one daughter Vickey Morgan, step grandson Chadrick Anderson, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

A viewing to celebrate Tommie’s life will be held on December 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, and services on December 13, 2025, at 12 noon at Idea Family Church, where friends and family can gather to share in the warmth of their collective memories. His journey will culminate with burial honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on December 15, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM, in a ceremony befitting a man of his stature.

Tommie Lee Morgan, through his love, laughter, and the indomitable spirit that graced our lives, will be profoundly missed yet lovingly remembered by all who were privileged to know him.
