DALLAS — Community organizer and civic leader John Bowers III continues to bridge culture and community through civic action. Over the weekend, Bowers hosted a voter registration drive at Sneaker Politics in Deep Ellum, blending streetwear and social awareness to reach younger voters ahead of the November election.
“Voting, to me, is one of the purest ways we can make our voices heard,” Bowers said. “It’s not just about choosing leaders—it’s about shaping the direction of our community, our values, and our future.”
Bowers, who grew up in Rowlett, helped register 10 new voters at the event, emphasizing the importance of local participation. “When more people vote, our democracy becomes stronger and more reflective of everyone’s voice,” he added.
Through his ongoing civic efforts, Bowers says he feels both pride and purpose: “Generations before us fought for that very right. Progress happens one decision, one election, and one person at a time.”
The event underscored Bowers’ mission to empower new voters—proving that even small steps can spark lasting change in North Texas.
