OBIT: ARTHUR RAY EASTER

Arthur Ray Easter, born on January 7, 1956, in Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away on September 17, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. A man of profound drive and unwavering compassion, Arthur’s life encapsulated the essence of helping others, a legacy that will echo in the lives of those who loved him.

Arthur is known for his outspoken nature, his commanding voice, and his innate ability to protect those he cherishes.  A very good heart and a great sense of humor, he could light up a room and turn any gathering into an unforgettable occasion. His love for life was celebrated through his various interests: fishing, music, and lawn care. He found joy in barbecuing for family and friends, passionately watched the Washington Commanders, and playfully bet against the Dallas Cowboys. The thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets and camaraderie over a game of dominoes brought him a unique delight, deeply rooted in the connections he forged with those around him.

As a proud graduate of Magnolia High School, Arthur’s journey would take him beyond academics as he bravely served in the U.S. Navy, embodying the values of dedication and service that defined his incredible spirit. His life was not just about achievements; it was enriched by his role as a devoted father and grandfather, a title he held with great pride. The joy he derived from his son and daughter-in-law, Adam Easter (Miranda) and grandsons Jarell Jr. and Jahrion Bell, was immeasurable.

Arthur’s later years were characterized by a passion for fixing up his beloved Buick LeSabre, a symbolic manifestation of his attention to detail, family, and the things he held dear. This hands-on approach extended beyond cars—it illustrated his love for nurturing and enhancing the lives of those around him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Cheryl Easter, who stood as his partner through life’s many adventures. Together, they created a tapestry of experiences that will be cherished by their family. Arthur is further survived by his siblings: Morris W. Easter, Alan Hayes, Nancy Hayes, Harry Hayes, Janet Easter, Audrey Easter, Carlos Easter, Artrus Easter Jr., Deliban Easter, and Ruby Wilson—each of whom shared in the rich journey of his life.

His memory will be honored during a visitation held at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas in Dallas from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The following day Friday, October 3, 2025, friends and family will gather for a funeral service at the same location, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at noon. Arthur will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, with burial services commencing at 1:00 PM.   For those who will be attending the services the attire is red.

Arthur Ray Easter leaves a legacy woven into the fabric of every life he has touched. His warmth, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family will forever be a guiding light, a reminder of the beauty found in genuine connections. As we celebrate the life of such a remarkable man, we do so with gratitude for the memories he gifted us and the love that will endure in our hearts.
